Final thoughts…

Both phone are well constructed and look great but the Galaxy S8 does look much more futuristic and in line with what one would expect in terms of smartphone design in 2017 (minimal bezel). Both these devices are very powerful with the latest processors, camera sensors and RAM. OnePlus 5 starts at 6GB RAM compared to 4GB offered by the competitor, however the Samsung Galaxy S8 does have a superior Ultra High Definition (UHD) display compared to the OnePlus 5’s rather disappointing HD display.

S8 is priced at £689, while the Galaxy S8+ which is equipped with 6GB RAM will set you back by an even higher £779. The OnePlus 5 on the other hand starts at £449 with 6GB RAM but if you want more RAM, you can pick up the 8GB version for £499. If you are purchasing as part of a 2 year contract, the handset price should not really make much difference to your choice.

The S8 is far more expensive than the OnePlus 5 but it does pack in more higher-end features (waterproof/dust proof, expandable memory via SD Card and superior screen).
